About Us
An Aylmer tradition for about 40 years!
This is a place for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to enjoy unstructured play, crafts, singing, and stories with other children.
Little Friends Playgroup was founded by English-speaking families in Aylmer in the early 80s and it has been part of the community since then. Countless new parents and neighbours in the area met their new friends at playgroup.
Our work has a real impact on the quality of life of the families who attend each session. Meeting people at the playgroup provides an opportunity to break isolation that parenting young children can incur - it helps parents in developing and maintaining social bonds.
The playgroup is entirely run by volunteers as a cooperative. Little Friends Playgroup is a registered Nonprofit Organization.

We participate in the program La petite route de lait de l'Outaouais created by the CISSS de l'Outaouais that supports nursing moms.
We adopted a Little Free Library Croque-Livres! This is a network of book sharing boxes for children 0 to 12 inspired by the “Take a book or give a book” approach.. It offers children and their families free access to shared books. Our Croque-Livres is located on rue Woods. It was painted by students from Grande-Rivière High School in Aylmer. They were inspired by the work of Quebec artist Alfred Pella.
We are proud to announce that Aylmer Little Friends Playgroup won the award for "Community or sporting event of the year 2019" for the 6th edition of our Easter Egg Hunt at the Volunteers Recognition Gala Secteur Aylmer 2019.
We thank the City of Gatineau and our councillors for their support; to local businesses, to volunteer students, to community organizations, to our members, and all families who attend this event every year and invite their friends to join!
